Remote Senior Python Developer (worldwide remote, work anywhere)

Description:

• AlmaLinux Team is offering an opportunity to improve the well-known open-source project, AlmaLinux OS, which is 1:1 binary compatible with RHEL and serves as a popular CentOS replacement.
• The position involves developing and contributing to infrastructure projects, including the AlmaLinux Build System, which encompasses several stages from building and releasing packages to automating processes and enhancing features.
• The role requires close collaboration with the community on valuable open-source projects.
• You will be involved in designing the AlmaLinux OS Build automation system and other open-source projects such as Pulp, Gitea, Mock, and Ansible.
• You will be an active member of the AlmaLinux community.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of Python programming experience is required.
• Experience with the GNU/Linux operating system and shell scripting is necessary.
• Familiarity with git-based development processes is essential.
• Proficiency in English at an intermediate level or higher is required.
• Additional skills that will be a plus include experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), AWS S3/EC2, Azure, Terraform/Ansible, knowledge of RPM/DEB package build processes (mock, pbuilder, etc.), and experience with Django.
