Description:
parcelLab is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join their Engineering team in Munich, Bavaria, or remotely within Germany.
The role involves building systems that enhance pre-checkout, delivery, and returns experiences for over 550 brands globally.
Responsibilities include collaborating with Product Engineering Leadership and Product Owners to develop and maintain the product portfolio, which serves millions of users daily.
The engineer will design, develop, and optimize scalable backend applications using technologies such as Python, Django, REST/GraphQL APIs, Job Queues, and various databases.
The position requires the use of modern development processes and best practices, including CI/CD, code quality checks, test automation, and infrastructure as code.
The engineer will actively participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members.
Collaboration with stakeholders is essential to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
Participation in cross-functional team meetings to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and drive product development is expected.
Staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices is crucial to maintain the competitive edge of the product offerings.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have at least 4 years of professional experience in software development, preferably with a focus on product engineering and highly scalable systems.
Proficiency in Python, Django or FastAPI, or comparable stacks (e.g., Java, modern PHP, Ruby, or Typescript) is necessary.
Strong experience with modern technologies such as REST/GraphQL APIs, SQL, MongoDB, AWS, Terraform, and GitHub Actions is required.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to a product-focused mindset, is essential.
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills are necessary for this role.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is a plus.
