Description:

  • parcelLab is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join their Engineering team in Munich, Bavaria, or remotely within Germany.
  • The role involves building systems that enhance pre-checkout, delivery, and returns experiences for over 550 brands globally.
  • Responsibilities include collaborating with Product Engineering Leadership and Product Owners to develop and maintain the product portfolio, which serves millions of users daily.
  • The engineer will design, develop, and optimize scalable backend applications using technologies such as Python, Django, REST/GraphQL APIs, Job Queues, and various databases.
  • The position requires the use of modern development processes and best practices, including CI/CD, code quality checks, test automation, and infrastructure as code.
  • The engineer will actively participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders is essential to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Participation in cross-functional team meetings to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and drive product development is expected.
  • Staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices is crucial to maintain the competitive edge of the product offerings.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must have at least 4 years of professional experience in software development, preferably with a focus on product engineering and highly scalable systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, Django or FastAPI, or comparable stacks (e.g., Java, modern PHP, Ruby, or Typescript) is necessary.
  • Strong experience with modern technologies such as REST/GraphQL APIs, SQL, MongoDB, AWS, Terraform, and GitHub Actions is required.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to a product-focused mindset, is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills are necessary for this role.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is a plus.
