Description:

Gorilla Logic is seeking a Senior Backend Python Engineer for a remote position in Colombia or Costa Rica.
This role is highly technical and focuses on server-side web application logic and front-end integration.
The position requires outstanding programming skills and a passion for application development.
Candidates must demonstrate critical thinking, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and determination.
Responsibilities include creating efficient code, improving server-side applications and databases, designing and implementing services (APIs, Jobs and Tasks, Events), and defining technical and design requirements.
The engineer will participate in the design, documentation, and creation of scalable and secure software.
The role demands the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and entails end-to-end ownership of feature development.
Strong technical communication skills are necessary for interaction with Agile team members, along with good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of back-end software engineering experience.
Recent experience in Front-End development is required, with a preference for Angular, though React is also acceptable.
A minimum of 2+ years of programming experience in Python/Flask is necessary.
Experience in deploying Python applications to production is required.
Knowledge of CI/CD, including branching strategies, pipelines, and test automation, is essential.
Candidates should have experience with databases such as MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
Experience in writing tests and other QA testing methodologies is required.
Familiarity with modern service-based architectures and event-driven architectures is necessary.
Understanding of accessibility and security compliance is important.
Experience with RESTful Web Services, APIs, and asynchronous data flow is required.
