Description:
Design and implement core pieces of the next generation mapping and localization engine for Serve
Build a mapping system that can scale to city-size environments
Collaborate to enhance mapping annotation tooling and data consumption by neural network based approaches for safe traversable area navigation
Develop estimators and RTK capable GPS data in robots to improve global localization accuracy
Work closely with autonomy team members to optimize mapping and localization utility
Ship production quality code, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior engineers
Requirements:
Master’s in Robotics focused on localization and mapping with 5+ years of experience or PhD with research background applicable to practical robotic solutions in localization and mapping
Deep understanding of SLAM systems
Strong C++ programming skills
Ability to design and build a simple system that evolves into an elegant, scalable system
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
