Description:

The Senior Ruby Engineer will be responsible for architecting and developing highly scalable web applications at Reedsy.
They will work closely with designers and engineers to design, build, and ship new features from scratch.
Evaluating and improving the performance, durability, and security of applications in production will be a key responsibility.
The role involves taking ownership of tasks and seeing features through from start to finish.
Building RESTful APIs is also part of the job scope.

Requirements:

The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails at a production level.
Proficiency in SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases is required.
Familiarity with unit tests (RSpec) and QA testing tools and techniques is necessary.
Advanced knowledge of Git is essential.
Strong emphasis on Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns is a must.
Perfect fluency in English and excellent communication skills are required.
Experience working remotely is a prerequisite.

Bonus points:

Experience with Elasticsearch.
Familiarity with deployment automation tools.
