Remote Senior Rust Backend Engineer

Description:

• Nextdata is seeking a Senior Rust Engineer to help build solutions and platforms on top of data infrastructure using Rust as the primary coding language.
• The role involves collaborating closely with the engineering team to develop key components of the Nextdata OS, ensuring robustness, scalability, and security for decentralized analytical and machine learning workloads.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining data platforms and solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• The engineer will leverage their experience with data infrastructure to design and implement systems that support large-scale data and analytics workloads.
• The position requires collaboration on platform development to ensure seamless integration with other tools and technologies.
• The engineer will contribute to the design and architecture of the platform, meeting the needs of modern data product developers and data mesh implementations.
• Secondary proficiency in Python and other tools is expected to complement Rust work in building versatile and efficient solutions.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of experience working with production-grade distributed systems, data infrastructure, or data platforms.
• Proficiency in Rust as a primary coding language is required, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and scalable code.
• Experience with Python as a secondary language for data pipeline development or other complementary tasks is necessary.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, specifically experience with Kubernetes and at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP), is essential.
• Candidates should have experience in distributed systems, particularly in building large-scale data infrastructure and handling high-volume data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills are required to tackle complex technical challenges related to data platforms.
• A team-focused attitude with strong communication skills is necessary to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
