Description:
Vidyard is seeking a Senior Security Developer to join the IT & Security team, reporting to the Manager, IT & Security.
The role involves collaborating with the R&D organization to enhance the security framework and provide insights during design and development processes.
The Senior Security Developer will mentor the team in secure software development and engineering practices, while also developing their own skills.
This is a new role aimed at candidates passionate about cybersecurity and secure coding practices, who are eager to take ownership and influence secure coding across engineering.
The IT & Security team manages all IT and security requests, compliance initiatives, and works closely with other teams to ensure the security and confidentiality of customer data.
Responsibilities include collaborating with engineering teams, identifying process gaps, managing vulnerabilities, proposing security changes to the SDLC, and leading incident response efforts.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity at a software development or SaaS company.
Experience in a startup environment is preferred.
A strong understanding of cloud security issues, AWS, GDPR, and security tooling is required.
Mentorship experience is preferred, as this role will involve guiding the Security team.
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and secure coding practices is preferred.
Candidates should be adept at solving complex security problems and breaking them down into actionable solutions.
A proven track record of improving development processes to reduce vulnerabilities is necessary.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective teamwork and stakeholder influence.
A self-driven attitude with the ability to identify gaps and advocate for change is required.
