Description:

1Password is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead security engineering efforts across the organization.
The role involves developing solutions to identify and automatically remediate application and infrastructure security issues across various tech stacks.
The successful candidate will work on Secure-by-Default initiatives on the production platform alongside other engineers.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining security tooling and systems for cloud infrastructure and application platforms.
The engineer will apply software development skills to implement impactful security software solutions.
The position requires ownership of security engineering projects that involve collaboration with cross-functional teams to define optimal security solutions.
The role also includes providing technical leadership and mentorship to fellow engineers.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of combined experience in software and/or security engineering.
Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, deploying, securing, and monitoring critical production systems is required.
Strong hands-on experience with software development is essential.
Candidates should have effective cross-functional communication skills and the ability to build strong technical partnerships with stakeholders.
The ability to translate technical and compliance requirements into engineering execution is necessary.
Candidates must be able to prioritize projects, drive project execution, and plan future work effectively.
Hands-on experience in security problem domains such as identity & access management, software supply chain security, and automated vulnerability management is required.
Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) and static application security tooling (e.g., Semgrep) is a plus.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Golang, Rust, Javascript/Typescript, or Ruby on Rails is highly recommended.

The annual base salary for USA-based roles ranges from $153,000 to $207,000 USD, while Canada-based roles range from $140,000 to $190,000 CAD.
