Description:

  • The Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for enhancing the company's security and compliance practices, transforming security into a strategic enabler rather than a cost center.
  • This role involves developing and maintaining security policies, managing regulatory compliance, and fostering a security-focused culture across the organization.
  • The engineer will work closely with the executive team and various departments to ensure that security practices align with business objectives while anticipating and neutralizing potential risks.
  • Key accountabilities include leading the development of company-wide information security policies and programs, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and managing the Information Security Committee.
  • The role also includes overseeing security audits and assessments, developing security awareness and training programs, coordinating vendor security assessments, and managing third-party risk.
  • Additionally, the engineer will run security incident response protocols and conduct Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery exercises, while collaborating with internal technology teams on cloud security, threat modeling, and penetration testing.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience as a Senior Security Engineer or in a similar role focused on information security compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare data privacy and security regulations is required, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • The ideal candidate should have a proven ability to turn security into a strategic business enabler.
  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or HITRUST CCM are necessary.
  • A strong understanding of security governance frameworks and risk management is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
