Description:

Vanta is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to help secure the internet and protect consumer data.
The role involves owning impactful projects to enhance the efficiency of the security team.
The security team ensures the company is a trusted steward of sensitive data and contributes expertise across various functions including product, sales, marketing, support, and engineering.
Responsibilities include participating in team exercises to identify security risks, contributing to prioritization discussions, planning and executing projects to address risks, and building maintainable programs for operational excellence.
The engineer will collaborate with developers to review project plans for security concerns, run tools to enhance the security program, support bug bounty and penetration testing programs, and establish a network of security champions.
The role also involves delivering training to address security knowledge gaps and providing input into architectural discussions for secure innovation.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a track record of independent ownership of responsibilities.
Experience with threat modeling, red teaming, penetration testing, or similar methods for identifying security issues is required.
Some coding experience and the ability to read code to identify security flaws are necessary.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, along with deep empathy for developers, are essential.
Highly organized project management skills are required for success in this role.
