Description:
The Senior Security Engineer position at Cash App involves working within the Bitcoin Platform Engineering team to co-design, co-build, and co-own security mechanisms and features to protect the entire lifecycle of Bitcoin holdings in production and at scale.
Responsibilities include co-designing and co-building security mechanisms and features in Bitcoin platform production services, written in Kotlin and running on AWS.
The role also entails maintaining and developing new capabilities for Subzero, an open-source cold storage system, including embedded applications that execute on Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
Requirements:
8+ years of experience delivering quality software is required for this position.
Candidates should have experience writing security-sensitive code or using cryptographic libraries.
Familiarity with security protocols or protocol implementation is necessary.
Experience with embedded systems, embedded C, firmware development, or embedded security is a must.
Proficiency with technologies such as Secure Enclaves, TrustZone, SGX, AWS Nitro enclaves, HSMs, nCipher HSMs, or Codesafe is essential.
Experience building security-sensitive applications in AWS is a requirement.
A strong motivation to contribute to a meaningful product that will change the way people interact with financial institutions is expected.
Candidates should have a strong desire to grow as a security engineer and mentor other engineers.
Demonstrated technical initiative and leadership skills are necessary for this role.
