Description:
The Senior Security Engineer will join the Cybersecurity team at Jane, focusing on defensive security practices, incident management, and threat intelligence.
This role involves leading technical initiatives and educating the team on cybersecurity knowledge and practices.
The engineer will engage users by demonstrating real-time defensive tactics and secure practices to enhance their understanding of cybersecurity.
Responsibilities include performing security assessments, monitoring security alerts, and participating in incident response.
The engineer will implement and optimize the application security program using tools like SAST, DAST, SCA, and dependency management tools.
Conducting detailed threat modeling exercises and assessing risks through security assessments is a key part of the role.
The engineer will support incident response efforts, develop detection mechanisms, and collaborate with various teams to implement identity and access management controls.
Participation in security reviews for new features and application changes is expected to ensure early integration of security considerations.
Continuous professional development is encouraged through research and staying informed about new security trends and practices.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates should have experience in security functions such as security operations, application security program administration, and incident response.
Familiarity with cloud security, endpoint detection, and identity and access management is highly valued.
Experience with security frameworks and tools such as SAST, DAST, SCA, SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and cloud security platforms is necessary.
Understanding of OWASP, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, and the software development lifecycle is required.
Certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar are preferred but not mandatory.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and prioritize risks in various systems are essential.
Excellent communication skills are needed to articulate security issues and collaborate effectively within the team.
