Shakepay is on a mission to revolutionize financial services in Canada, focusing on Bitcoin.
The Senior Security Engineer will safeguard Shakepay’s digital assets, infrastructure, and customer data against cyber threats.
This role involves identifying, developing, and implementing security measures and strategies across various domains.
The position reports to the Head of Security.
Responsibilities include designing high-impact security solutions, mentoring teams, managing security processes and vendor relationships, leading threat modeling discussions, maintaining a Zero Trust environment, automating alert responses, participating in on-call rotations, and engaging in governance and compliance audits.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of broad Security experience, including Enterprise & Operational Security, Incident Response, Offensive Security, GRC, and Product Security.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a cloud environment, preferably AWS, is required.
Proficiency in a high-level programming language for building alerting capabilities and automating security tasks is necessary.
Exceptional communication skills and a clear sense of ownership are essential for managing expectations and priorities.
A passion for scaling security through simplicity and fostering a security-first culture is important.
Experience in a highly regulated environment, preferably in a startup, is preferred.
Bonus points for experience in software development, knowledge of Bitcoin technology, experience with Git, and cryptography knowledge.
