Description:
The position is for a Senior Security Engineer, Detection & Response, based in the UK and is a remote role.
The engineer will enhance security operations by designing and implementing advanced detection strategies and automating response workflows.
Responsibilities include leading incident response efforts and collaborating with teams across engineering, IT, and security.
The role focuses on building and deploying scalable security solutions to improve threat mitigation and response capabilities in cloud-based environments.
Key accountabilities include developing detection techniques and tools, automating existing tooling, collaborating with various teams to ensure a robust security posture, managing security incidents, and contributing to security strategy development.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in security roles that focus on detection and response.
Proven experience with AWS or other cloud environments, Linux, and endpoint security software such as SentinelOne is required.
Familiarity with log analysis and querying tools like DataDog is necessary.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Rust, or JavaScript is essential.
Strong ability to manage and respond to security alerts and incidents, particularly in cloud-based environments, is required.
Experience in automating detection and response processes using APIs and webhooks is necessary.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-team coordination and project planning are essential.
