Description:

  • ButterflyMX is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their team, focusing on the protection of clients', tenants', and employees' information assets.
  • The role involves maturing, building, scaling, and operationalizing the information security program as the first dedicated security engineer.
  • Responsibilities include designing and maintaining robust security controls, leading vulnerability management efforts, and extending detection and response capabilities.
  • The engineer will drive security incident response efforts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the product development lifecycle and staying updated on security threats and technologies.
  • The engineer will also develop and conduct regular security awareness training for employees and serve as a point of contact for security-related inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of security engineering experience in a fast-paced, cloud-native startup environment.
  • Experience in securing SaaS, Mobile, and IoT tech stacks is required.
  • Proficiency in managing security solutions in a remote-first organization with a cloud tech stack is essential.
  • Candidates should have expertise in AWS security, including securing EC2, S3, Lambda, and EKS, as well as experience with security overlay solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge across multiple security domains, including cloud security, data security, and incident management, is necessary.
  • Experience maintaining SOC 2 Type II compliance and implementing data privacy controls is required.
  • Candidates should have expertise in DevSecOps practices and incident response management.
  • A strong inclination to engage in hands-on work and a continuous improvement mindset is essential.
  • Industry certifications such as AWS Security Certified, CISSP, or CCSP are preferred.
