Description:
ButterflyMX is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their team, focusing on the protection of clients', tenants', and employees' information assets.
The role involves maturing, building, scaling, and operationalizing the information security program as the first dedicated security engineer.
Responsibilities include designing and maintaining robust security controls, leading vulnerability management efforts, and extending detection and response capabilities.
The engineer will drive security incident response efforts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the product development lifecycle and staying updated on security threats and technologies.
The engineer will also develop and conduct regular security awareness training for employees and serve as a point of contact for security-related inquiries.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of security engineering experience in a fast-paced, cloud-native startup environment.
Experience in securing SaaS, Mobile, and IoT tech stacks is required.
Proficiency in managing security solutions in a remote-first organization with a cloud tech stack is essential.
Candidates should have expertise in AWS security, including securing EC2, S3, Lambda, and EKS, as well as experience with security overlay solutions.
Extensive knowledge across multiple security domains, including cloud security, data security, and incident management, is necessary.
Experience maintaining SOC 2 Type II compliance and implementing data privacy controls is required.
Candidates should have expertise in DevSecOps practices and incident response management.
A strong inclination to engage in hands-on work and a continuous improvement mindset is essential.
Industry certifications such as AWS Security Certified, CISSP, or CCSP are preferred.
