Remote Senior Security Engineer - Platform Security (Remote, Canada)

Description:

• The Senior Security Engineer position at Grafana Labs focuses on Platform Security within Grafana Cloud, involving automation and decision-making related to cloud service provider IAM, Kubernetes access control, secret management, and workload security.
• The role requires hands-on involvement in writing and shipping code to simplify secure decision-making for engineers by providing secure templates and embedding security best practices into development tools.
• Responsibilities include assisting engineers in making security decisions through security reviews and advisory.
• The position involves working with a highly distributed team and collaborating with engineers and management structures to ensure the best outcomes.
• The team operates by consensus, with a focus on communication, collaboration, kindness, and respect.
• The role requires a keen interest in working with distributed systems and a commitment to learning and growth.
• The team follows a holistic approach to development, owning the full life cycle of code and working mainly with Go, Python, and Shell.
• Experience with operating code, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform/Crossplane is preferred.
• Familiarity with CSP IAM, cloud security posture management (CSPM), Kubernetes administration, and experience in threat modeling and secure architecture reviews are valued.
• The role involves upcoming projects such as streamlining Just In Time Access, automated assessment of infrastructure, improving security posture, and refining CI/CD platform security.
