Remote Senior Security Engineer - Platform Security (Remote, Germany))

Description:

• The Senior Security Engineer will be part of the Platform Security squad at Grafana Labs, responsible for automation and decision-making regarding cloud service provider IAM, Kubernetes access control, secret management, and workload security for Grafana Cloud.
• The role involves writing and shipping code to simplify secure decision-making for engineers by providing pre-configured, secure templates and embedding security best practices into development tools.
• The engineer will assist other team members in making the best security decisions for all products through security reviews and advisory.
• The position requires participation in on-call rotations to ensure system health and understanding of how people use the products.
• The team mainly works with Go, Python, and Shell, and operates with a holistic approach to development, owning the full life cycle of the code.
• Experience with operating code, Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform/Crossplane, and familiarity with CSP IAM and cloud security posture management are preferred skills.
• The role involves upcoming projects such as streamlining Just In Time Access, automated assessment of infrastructure, improving security posture and observability, and refining CI/CD platform security posture.

Requirements:

• Enjoy working with engineers and management structures, being collaborative, friendly, kind, and respectful in a remote-first company.
• Comfortable with distributed systems and eager to learn and grow.
• Approach development holistically, owning the full life cycle of code, and have experience with operating code.
• Familiarity with CSP IAM, cloud security posture management, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform/Crossplane, Kubernetes administration, and experience in threat modeling and secure architecture reviews.
