Description:

  • Calendly is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Engineering team, which focuses on impactful innovation for customers.
  • The role involves designing, building, maintaining, and operating the next-generation infrastructure platform.
  • The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will report to a Senior Manager of Engineering and will work on a growing team with a focus on scalability.
  • Responsibilities include building tools and applications to extend Calendly’s infrastructure platform, evaluating and deploying cloud-native open-source tools, and maintaining observability of the infrastructure.
  • The engineer will participate in an on-call rotation to support the infrastructure platform and foster a collaborative learning environment.
  • The position requires defining standard practices and tooling around new services, changes, incidents, postmortems, and capacity management.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a strong eagerness and drive to learn, along with the ability to share knowledge and mentor others.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail are essential, as well as the ability to navigate complex issues.
  • Comfort in working directly with internal customers to understand their needs and collaborate on solutions is required.
  • A strong understanding of the Linux operating system is necessary.
  • Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP, distributed systems, and reliability practices.
  • Deep experience in designing, building, and running highly-available production infrastructure is required.
  • Proficiency in Golang or Python development, especially in writing APIs for managing cloud infrastructure, is essential.
  • Solid knowledge of designing and implementing cloud-native applications on Kubernetes is required.
  • Robust knowledge of computer networking principles and extensive experience with cloud networking technologies is necessary.
  • Extensive experience with software and infrastructure monitoring tools, particularly Datadog, is required.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship.
