Description:
Calendly is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Engineering team, which focuses on impactful innovation for customers.
The role involves designing, building, maintaining, and operating the next-generation infrastructure platform.
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will report to a Senior Manager of Engineering and will work on a growing team with a focus on scalability.
Responsibilities include building tools and applications to extend Calendly’s infrastructure platform, evaluating and deploying cloud-native open-source tools, and maintaining observability of the infrastructure.
The engineer will participate in an on-call rotation to support the infrastructure platform and foster a collaborative learning environment.
The position requires defining standard practices and tooling around new services, changes, incidents, postmortems, and capacity management.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a strong eagerness and drive to learn, along with the ability to share knowledge and mentor others.
Creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail are essential, as well as the ability to navigate complex issues.
Comfort in working directly with internal customers to understand their needs and collaborate on solutions is required.
A strong understanding of the Linux operating system is necessary.
Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP, distributed systems, and reliability practices.
Deep experience in designing, building, and running highly-available production infrastructure is required.
Proficiency in Golang or Python development, especially in writing APIs for managing cloud infrastructure, is essential.
Solid knowledge of designing and implementing cloud-native applications on Kubernetes is required.
Robust knowledge of computer networking principles and extensive experience with cloud networking technologies is necessary.
Extensive experience with software and infrastructure monitoring tools, particularly Datadog, is required.

The expected annual base salary ranges from $170,000 to $276,000 depending on the location tier, with additional considerations for experience and skills.
