Description:
Jobber is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Product Software Engineering team, focusing on enhancing the success of small businesses through technology.
The role involves collaborating with the cloud infrastructure team to design, implement, operate, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining local tooling for development and observability, participating in on-call rotations, and improving the on-call experience for the team.
The position requires daily collaboration with the SRE team, engaging in paired programming sessions, and ensuring alignment and preparedness among teams.
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will leverage AI tools while maintaining engineering standards and will mentor peers to foster a collaborative environment.
The role is remote within Canada, with options to work from Edmonton or Toronto offices.
Requirements:
Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in providing systems support within a cloud environment, preferably AWS, with some Azure Cloud experience being beneficial.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform is required.
Applicants should have a background in optimizing continuous deployment performance and managing multiple projects and incidents.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Python, or Bash is necessary.
A strong commitment to learning, reliability, automation, and problem-solving is essential.
Exceptional interpersonal skills are required for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, especially in high-pressure situations.
Highly desired qualifications include experience supporting Ruby on Rails, GQL, React applications, knowledge of security, scalability, observability, and Kubernetes experience.
