Description:
Synthesis Health is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer who will work at the intersection of development, operations, IT, security, and support.
The role involves facilitating the automated deployment of product updates, identifying production issues programmatically, implementing integrations, planning projects, and participating in cross-functional communications.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing automated application deployment processes, managing development environments, and reducing deployment complexity through automation.
The engineer will oversee software automation across cloud providers, currently using GCP but aiming to be cloud agnostic, and will containerize services to optimize resources and improve deployment speed.
The role also includes managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, deploying and maintaining servers, storage, and network resources, and contributing to software architecture and infrastructure as code.
Security responsibilities involve designing and implementing security measures, drafting security processes, ensuring compliance, and maintaining disaster recovery plans.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve software delivery speed and reliability, and will create internal documentation for transparency.
Process improvement tasks include evaluating existing applications, analyzing resource utilization, and maintaining real-time monitoring systems.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
At least one year of experience as a Python developer who has transitioned to a site reliability engineer role is necessary.
A minimum of five years of experience in software development as a DevOps is required.
Demonstrated experience of at least two years in an SRE role on a platform running Kubernetes (GKE preferred) at scale is essential.
Preferred qualifications include experience using ArgoCD, one year of experience with a service mesh such as Istio in a GKE environment, and experience in the healthcare industry on the technology side.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment are important.
The candidate should be able to work in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders of varying technical knowledge.
Experience working in YAML, exceptional customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in scripting languages like Python, and automation tools such as Terraform are also preferred.
Strong organizational skills are required.

The salary range for this position is $150k β $200k USD, paid in the currency of the country where the individual is hired.
