Remote Senior Site Reliability Engineer

• The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will ensure the reliability and efficiency of Nylas products, managing a large-scale infrastructure that serves billions of API calls daily.
• Responsibilities include supporting the engineering team with best practices, provisioning new infrastructure, maintaining and scaling legacy systems in AWS, and managing new infrastructure in GCP.
• The role involves configuring alerts and dashboards, managing CI/CD pipelines, participating in on-call rotations, and assisting in debugging and resolving incidents.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in production engineering, with hands-on experience in managing and scaling Linux-based production servers is required.
• Exceptional communication skills and a strong empathetic approach are necessary for effective teamwork and problem-solving.
• Advanced proficiency in navigating the Linux command line is essential.
• Demonstrated experience with logging and observability platforms like New Relic, Coralogix, Grafana, and Prometheus is preferred.
• Experience in automating systems using tools such as Chef, Ansible, or Puppet is required.
• Proven track record of deploying and managing services using Kubernetes and Docker is necessary.
• Practical experience with major cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure is required, focusing on deploying and maintaining scalable applications.
• Capability to write reliable code in at least one programming language such as Python, GoLang, or JavaScript is necessary, though coding will not be the central focus of the interview process.
• A strong ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks is essential.
• A passion for building modern, scalable infrastructure and automating routine tasks to improve efficiency and reliability is required.
