Description:
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will architect and lead the delivery of high-quality and reliable solutions to address business problems on a frequent and regular basis.
This role involves writing software to automate and scale the operations of the engineering organization.
The engineer will evangelize reliability-as-a-feature through monitoring, service-level objectives, automation, everything-as-code, and testing.
The position requires continuous building of domain understanding to help shape and build solutions within the engineer's expertise.
The engineer will champion automation to reduce toil and increase development velocity.
Building positive and collaborative relationships across the company is essential.
The role includes defining and instrumenting Service-Level Objectives to ensure an excellent customer experience.
The engineer will apply everything-as-code methodologies across configuration, infrastructure, orchestration, and other areas.
Hosting blameless postmortems to share learnings, discover gaps, embrace transparency, and improve reliability across services is a key responsibility.
The engineer will lead projects from inception to completion and participate in an on-call rotation to assist in finding resolutions during incidents.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience building infrastructure solutions in AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience working with Docker containers and related orchestration technologies, such as Kubernetes or ECS, is required.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience building and deploying CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, and PHP is necessary.
Candidates must have experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications, including well-designed APIs and database schemas.
Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams with engineers in product and data groups is essential.
Deep technical expertise is required; candidates should be able to write, debug, and refactor code while being mindful of tradeoffs, scalability, architecture, and code cleanliness.
Candidates must demonstrate mastery of their craft to solve problems in automation, infrastructure, and/or developer tooling.
Experience leveraging observability tooling and practices such as SLOs to help engineering teams own the reliability and quality of the software they build is necessary.
Candidates should show leadership by defining and delivering well-scoped milestones for projects and making autonomous decisions relevant to the overall strategy.
