Description:
Owner.com is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to enhance their restaurant-commerce platform's infrastructure.
The role is remote and involves ensuring systems are always-on, observable, and deploy-ready while assisting developers in shipping with confidence.
Responsibilities include designing for reliability, owning observability, automating deployments, championing security and compliance, partitioning and scaling data-stores, leading incident response, and mentoring product engineers.
The technology stack includes AWS, Terraform, ECS/Fargate, Postgres, MongoDB, Kafka, Datadog, Cloudflare, GitHub, Buildkite, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, React, React Native, and Vue.js.
The position requires collaboration with backend, frontend, and data engineers, as well as Product, Customer Support, and Restaurant Success teams.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience running production workloads on AWS (or GCP/Azure) with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
Hands-on experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, Nomad) and designing blue/green or canary rollouts is required.
Depth in at least two core datastores (Postgres, MongoDB, Kafka) is necessary, including backup/restore, upgrades, and performance tuning.
Fluency with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Buildkite and GitHub Actions, and proficiency in automating tasks using shell, Python, or TypeScript is essential.
A proven track record in setting up monitoring/alerting in Datadog, Prometheus, or similar tools, with clear SLO/SLA ownership is needed.
Strong knowledge of Linux networking, load balancing, and CDN/edge-security concepts is required.
Excellent incident-management and root-cause analysis skills are necessary, along with a passion for customer-centric thinking and continuous learning.

The estimated base salary for this role ranges from $170K to $210K, along with a generous pre-IPO equity package.
The position offers 100% remote work across the U.S. or Canada, with an option to work from the San Francisco office.
