Remote Senior Site Reliability Engineer

• As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at MasteryPrep, you will optimize systems that elevate educational access for all students.
• You will ensure that digital platforms are robust, scalable, and secure, providing a reliable learning environment for underserved students.
• Your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• You will lead cybersecurity initiatives to protect data and systems from threats.
• A proactive approach to system reliability will be essential to prevent disruptions and maintain high availability for users.
• You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure applications are developed and deployed securely.
• Key responsibilities include conducting regular security audits, implementing security controls, monitoring system logs, and automating security processes.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
• Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on cybersecurity is necessary.
• Strong knowledge of Google Firestore, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, and Python is required.
• Experience with Unix/Linux Administration is essential.
• You must have experience implementing and maintaining security controls on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is required.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is necessary.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell are required.
• Experience conducting security audits and vulnerability assessments is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are necessary.
• You should be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are required.
• Preferred qualifications include certification in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) and experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
