Description:
Granicus is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their SRE team.
The role involves ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of services.
Responsibilities include providing on-call production support, working on customer and internal engineering tickets, and managing SRE backlog items.
The SRE will continuously monitor the health and performance of services, respond to alerts, and ensure high availability.
The position requires developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools to streamline operations.
The SRE will assist in troubleshooting incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing long-term fixes.
Participation in designing and implementing system improvements to enhance reliability, scalability, and performance is expected.
Collaboration with software engineers to understand application requirements and support deployment processes is essential.
The role includes creating and maintaining documentation for processes and troubleshooting guides.
The SRE will assist in capacity planning activities and implement security best practices to protect systems and data.
Requirements:
A Bachelorโs or Masterโs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, system administration, or a similar role.
Expertise in Linux/Unix systems, networking, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is necessary.
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby) and programming languages (Go, Java, C++) is required.
Advanced knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk), configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet), and CI/CD pipelines is essential.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently are needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, drive projects to completion, and manage cross-functional initiatives is necessary.
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer are preferred.
In-depth understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is desired.
Experience with database management (SQL, NoSQL), load balancing, and distributed systems is beneficial.
