Remote Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Databases (Remote, Germany)

Description:

• The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for supporting Grafana Cloud's highest value customers by enhancing the reliability of Cloud databases based on Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope.
• The role involves owning the configuration of the software using Helm charts and Jsonnet, participating in the PRR for new features, ensuring releases do not impact SLOs or user experience, contributing to design docs and code, and making recommendations to customers for improved reliability.
• The position includes an on-call element with shared pager responsibilities, focusing on customer experience during incidents.
• The role requires collaborating with other teams, engaging in blame-free Incident Response, and actively participating in post-incident reviews.
• Day-to-day tasks involve creating and reviewing SLOs, improving observability, designing fault-tolerant solutions, collaborating on product strategy, and participating in Incident Response.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in SRE roles.
• Strong communication skills for technical discussions with engineers and customers.
• Experience with Kubernetes on AWS, GCP, or Azure, and familiarity with Helm charts or other IaC tools.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering, Large System Design, and Distributed Computing.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java).
• Understanding of Linux operating systems, networking, cloud storage, and scaling.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Comfort working autonomously within an engineering team.
• Intellectual curiosity, transparency, bias towards action, and kindness are valued.
