Description:
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for supporting high-value Grafana Cloud customers by enhancing the reliability of Cloud databases based on Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope.
The role involves managing environments for large customers, configuring software using Helm charts and Jsonnet, participating in the PRR for new features, and ensuring releases do not impact SLOs or user experience.
Responsibilities include contributing to design docs, code, PR reviews, and other engineering activities to enhance database reliability and customer observability.
The position requires participation in on-call duties, shared pager responsibilities, and collaborating with global teams to maintain a healthy on-call rotation.
Daily tasks involve regular meetings, reviewing and creating SLOs, improving monitoring and automation, enhancing customer observability, designing fault-tolerant solutions, and participating in incident response.
Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in SRE roles.
Strong communication skills to engage in technical discussions with engineers and customers.
Proficiency in Kubernetes on AWS, GCP, or Azure, and experience with Helm charts or other IaC tools.
Background in Site Reliability Engineering, Large System Design, and Distributed Computing.
Familiarity with programming languages like Go, Python, or Java, Linux operating systems, networking, cloud storage, and scaling.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Experience in blame-free Incident Response, PIRs, and working in autonomous engineering teams.
