Description:
Muon Space is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Platform Software team.
The team is responsible for providing cloud infrastructure for Muon’s Satellite Operations systems and Data Platform, as well as development and test systems for engineers across the company.
The role involves building and operating high-criticality services to support the development of world-class satellite systems.
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, versatile, and excited to collaborate with other teams to create secure and reliable systems.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code components, implementing tools and automation for software engineers, enforcing security best practices, and establishing standards for SLAs, monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery.
This position can be remote or based in Mountain View, California.
Requirements:
A B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, site reliability, or DevOps is necessary.
Expertise with AWS is essential.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is required.
Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, TLS, and VPNs, is necessary.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
Candidates should be excited to work in a fast-paced environment with new opportunities each week.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with Python development, Bash scripting, configuration management tools like Terraform or Ansible, familiarity with IAM systems, Azure cloud ecosystem, managing CI/CD in cloud-based environments, strong Linux fundamentals, and familiarity with cybersecurity compliance frameworks such as NIST-800-171 and GovCloud.
Benefits:
The salary range for this role is between $150K and $200K, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience.
In addition to salary, equity compensation is provided.
