Description:
Wisp is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Engineering team.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that Wisp’s systems are available to serve the patient experience.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex problems and a desire for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include using infrastructure as code practices (Terraform, Terragrunt) to build, launch, and maintain resilient, secure, and transparent AWS infrastructure solutions.
The engineer will oversee and optimize Kubernetes environments with a focus on security hardening and efficient load distribution.
The role involves enabling engineering teams by championing CI/CD best practices and managing workflows, migrations, and rollbacks of software delivery.
The engineer will manage all traffic ingress for Wisp’s ecosystem, including edge caching, application load balancing, and proxy configurations (Nginx, Envoy).
Establishing comprehensive observability solutions to provide actionable insights to engineering teams and business stakeholders is also a key responsibility.
Collaboration with security and software engineers to implement best practices for system reliability, performance, and security across the infrastructure is essential.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in Python, Go, or Shell scripting.
A deep understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, DNS, and load balancing, is required.
Proven ability to implement key SRE principles such as monitoring systems, performance optimization, and automation workflows is necessary.
Comprehensive expertise in container orchestration technologies, including Docker, Buildpack, and/or Kubernetes, is essential.
The candidate should be a self-directed professional capable of working autonomously, identifying potential issues, and implementing effective solutions with minimal oversight.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of clear communication and productive collaboration across technical and non-technical teams are required.
