Description:

  • Wisp is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Engineering team.
  • The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that Wisp’s systems are available to serve the patient experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex problems and a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Responsibilities include using infrastructure as code practices (Terraform, Terragrunt) to build, launch, and maintain resilient, secure, and transparent AWS infrastructure solutions.
  • The engineer will oversee and optimize Kubernetes environments with a focus on security hardening and efficient load distribution.
  • The role involves enabling engineering teams by championing CI/CD best practices and managing workflows, migrations, and rollbacks of software delivery.
  • The engineer will manage all traffic ingress for Wisp’s ecosystem, including edge caching, application load balancing, and proxy configurations (Nginx, Envoy).
  • Establishing comprehensive observability solutions to provide actionable insights to engineering teams and business stakeholders is also a key responsibility.
  • Collaboration with security and software engineers to implement best practices for system reliability, performance, and security across the infrastructure is essential.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in Python, Go, or Shell scripting.
  • A deep understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, DNS, and load balancing, is required.
  • Proven ability to implement key SRE principles such as monitoring systems, performance optimization, and automation workflows is necessary.
  • Comprehensive expertise in container orchestration technologies, including Docker, Buildpack, and/or Kubernetes, is essential.
  • The candidate should be a self-directed professional capable of working autonomously, identifying potential issues, and implementing effective solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of clear communication and productive collaboration across technical and non-technical teams are required.
  • Visa sponsorship or transfer is not available for this position, and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
