Description:
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps Engineer will ensure the seamless operation of large-scale, distributed, and robust systems.
This role involves optimizing performance, increasing reliability, and automating tasks to create more efficient processes.
The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team of software engineers to drive projects forward through effective task planning.
Responsibilities include taking ownership of the end-to-end availability and performance of services, proactively identifying potential issues, and implementing automation to prevent problems.
Participation in an on-call rotation is required to maintain system stability and responsiveness during off-hours.
The engineer will foster collaboration with other engineering teams and promote the reuse of existing frameworks.
Leading the development and implementation of service-level objectives to maintain product reliability is a key responsibility.
The role includes collaborating with software engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for rapid software releases.
The engineer will automate and optimize infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management processes using industry-standard tools.
Responsibilities also include implementing and managing containerization and orchestration technologies to enhance scalability.
The engineer will maintain and enhance version control systems for codebase management.
The role involves steering the SRE / DevOps roadmap and engaging in strategic planning for successful execution.
Staying current with industry trends and best practices in SRE, DevOps, and automation is essential.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps Engineer, working with software and infrastructure.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Javascript, Ruby, Groovy, PHP, or Bash is necessary.
Experience with one of the cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Azure Cloud, high availability systems, troubleshooting and debugging production code, and application deployment and data pipelines.
Understanding of distributed computing systems and experience with Snowflake and/or relational databases is also preferred.
