Description:
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at MasteryPrep, you will optimize systems that elevate educational access for all students.
You will ensure that digital platforms are robust, scalable, and secure, providing a reliable learning environment for underserved students.
Your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
You will lead cybersecurity initiatives to protect data and systems from threats.
Your proactive approach will prevent disruptions and maintain high availability for users.
Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining scalable infrastructure, serving as the primary cybersecurity resource, conducting security audits, implementing security controls, automating infrastructure processes, developing monitoring systems, and mentoring junior team members.
You will also participate in on-call rotations to respond to critical incidents outside of regular business hours.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on cybersecurity is necessary.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK is required, with a proven track record of implementing these tools in production environments.
Strong knowledge of Google Firestore, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, and PHP is essential.
Experience implementing and maintaining security controls in cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure is required.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell is necessary.
Experience conducting security audits and vulnerability assessments is required.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are required.
Candidates must be located in the Central or Eastern Time Zone.
Preferred qualifications include certification in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH), experience with SIEM systems, familiarity with compliance standards, knowledge of secure coding practices, and experience with network security technologies.
Benefits:
The starting salary for this position ranges from $165,000 to $175,000 based on qualifications.
