Description:
Braze is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer II to ensure the smooth operation of internal-facing services and platforms.
The role involves maintaining site uptime and blending system administration with software engineering principles.
Responsibilities include partnering with engineering teams to architect scalable products, debugging reliability issues, and ensuring adherence to enterprise-grade SLAs.
The engineer will develop internal platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Chef, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
The position requires managing incidents, being on a PagerDuty rotation, and using on-call shifts to prevent incidents.
The team focuses on improving automation, infrastructure reliability, and empowering other engineering teams.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience as a Software, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineer.
A strong understanding of systems, including interfaces, boundaries, and failure modes, is essential.
The ability to collaborate, document processes, and deliver quickly is required.
Experience working asynchronously with global remote teams is necessary.
Candidates should have a proactive attitude towards fixing issues and automating processes.
Strong multitasking and expectation management skills are important.
Proficiency in Linux and Unix Shell is required.
Strong programming skills in Ruby and/or Go are preferred.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar Infrastructure as Code technologies is necessary.
Familiarity with data technologies such as MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, or Postgres is required.
