Description:

  • Cruise is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer II specializing in Windows Infrastructure to join their Enterprise Platform Engineering team.
  • The role involves designing and delivering components of Microsoft Windows-based infrastructure to enhance availability, scalability, and latency.
  • Responsibilities include implementing solutions for securing and scaling Microsoft Windows configuration management services such as Active Directory, SCCM, and PKI, with a focus on automation.
  • The engineer will identify opportunities for self-service and workflow automation to assist with daily requests.
  • The position requires defining and improving observability capabilities related to Windows-based infrastructure.
  • The engineer will develop and maintain configuration policies and ensure compliance across IT.
  • The role includes providing tier-3 and tier-4 support for Microsoft systems as an escalation path from IT Operations or Security.
  • The engineer will own and report on the health of the Microsoft Windows Server environment, including patch coverage and performance baselines.
  • Collaboration with various technical and non-technical teams to translate requirements into service architecture components is essential.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have proven experience in the administration, configuration, and support of Microsoft Windows as a platform at scale.
  • A deep understanding of Active Directory, SCCM, PKI, DNS, and the use of Powershell scripts for management and automation is necessary.
  • Experience with InTune and AzureAD is required.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code methodologies for managing Microsoft Windows platforms is essential.
  • A solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and a strong desire to automate processes are required.
  • Experience using Git and CI/CD to enhance the quality and release cadence of changes is necessary.
  • Candidates should have experience managing Windows-based infrastructure in public clouds such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • A security mindset when engineering solutions to complex problems is essential.
  • Comfort with scripting and programming languages such as Powershell and Python is required.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and effectively drive projects in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
  • Empathy for end users and a commitment to providing a quality user experience are important.
