Description:
Zensurance is a scale-up InsurTech company that aims to empower small businesses across Canada by offering a modern approach to commercial insurance.
The company is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their Digital Platform team.
The SRE will work with the Engineering Department to develop infrastructure security, monitoring, release engineering, and developer tooling.
Responsibilities include assessing scalability, reliability, observability, and security requirements, guiding development teams, exploring new SRE technologies, managing CI/CD systems, and participating in an on-call rotation.
The role involves coaching and mentoring lower-level professionals and assisting the Engineering Leadership Team in improving craft capabilities.
This is a remote-first position within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Requirements:
A university degree or college diploma in a recognized technical, vocational, or academic program, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or related positions.
Experience in setting up observability processes and best practices for development teams is necessary.
Proficiency with a cloud service provider (preferably AWS) and CI/CD systems (Github Actions preferred) is required.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems (AWS Cloudwatch and Datadog preferred) and alerting systems (Sentry preferred) is essential.
Experience with distributed systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and uptime goals is required.
Knowledge in Infrastructure and Application Security, including Docker and AWS IAM, is necessary.
Candidates should have experience in health and performance monitoring of internal infrastructure and third-party dependencies.
Experience in release engineering and backup and recovery scenarios is required.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style are essential.
