Remote Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Description:

• Cision is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who can work independently while providing mentorship and guidance to colleagues across multiple areas of technology.
• The role involves ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of critical production services across various technical disciplines from design to implementation.
• The Senior SRE will report to the SRE Manager and be part of a team that supports 24x7 uptime of mission-critical services and infrastructure.
• The position requires contributing significant software architecture, strategy, design, and code to current or future versions of components, subsystems, systems, applications, or underlying technologies.
• The Senior SRE will evaluate new technologies and software products to determine their feasibility and desirability for incorporation into the company's software systems and applications.
• The role includes working with third-party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into the company's products.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have typically 5 to 10 years of experience as an SRE, DevOps, or Software Engineer.
• Expert knowledge of Kubernetes at scale and containerization technologies is required.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible and Terraform is essential.
• Good programming ability in an Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language and the ability to write scripts are necessary.
• Candidates must have expert and up-to-date knowledge of security best practices across all disciplines.
• Expertise in AWS and/or GCP is required.
• Strong knowledge of metrics/monitoring and alerting using tools like Prometheus and Grafana is essential.
• A strong understanding of networking fundamentals is necessary.
• Commitment to standardization and documentation is required.
• Strong Linux experience is essential.
• Experience with software delivery automation, CI/CD, and SDLC is required.
• Knowledge of Static and Dynamic Application Security Testing is necessary.
• Familiarity with SRE principles such as SLI, SLO, SLA, Toil, Uptime, and Observability is required.
• Advantageous but not essential skills include knowledge of Elasticsearch, Kafka, MySQL/Postgres, Windows, and Redis.
