The role involves leading the design, implementation, and governance of monitoring frameworks to support product and operations teams.
Responsibilities include serving as the primary technical lead for monitoring stack design, meeting with Product Owners and Operations/Security teams to understand observability needs, and developing dashboards and alerting frameworks.
The SRE will provide governance by ensuring accurate SLOs and SLIs are defined and maintained by engineering teams.
This position requires acting as a monitoring liaison, promoting a self-service observability culture, and leading the migration of over 200 applications' observability stacks from on-premises to SaaS Dynatrace within six months.
The role also involves using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform for automating the deployment of observability configurations and advocating for best practices across teams.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or observability-focused roles.
Proven hands-on experience with Dynatrace administration, including user/role management, data sources, configuration, alerting, and dashboarding is essential.
Demonstrated expertise in application observability migration from on-premise environments to SaaS platforms, preferably Dynatrace, is required.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of observability concepts, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and alert tuning.
Proficiency with Terraform and other IaC tools for managing observability infrastructure is necessary.
Experience managing large-scale observability environments and familiarity with Agile development methodologies is important.
Strong communication and mentoring skills are required, along with a detail-oriented and proactive mindset for process improvement.
Benefits:
Gorilla Logic offers a full-time, remote position with a competitive salary.
Employees will have the opportunity to work with Fortune 500 and SMB companies, gaining valuable experience in complex software initiatives.
The company promotes a collaborative Agile work environment, allowing for professional growth and development.
Employees can expect to be part of a team that values observability best practices and encourages self-service culture.
The role provides the chance to lead significant migration projects, enhancing technical skills and expertise in observability tools.
