Description:

  • Tenable is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to work on their cloud-based vulnerability management platform.
  • The role involves ensuring the reliability and high availability of Tenable cloud products in private cloud environments.
  • Responsibilities include responding to support escalations, troubleshooting complex technical problems, and resolving data/configuration issues.
  • The engineer will manage customer segregation across multiple geographical regions to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Development of software, tools, and scripts for automating deployment, management, and monitoring of production systems is required.
  • The position includes providing strategic leadership on complex projects and mentoring peers in technical designs and solution engineering.
  • Collaboration with cloud engineers to assess new cloud technologies and propose solutions is essential.
  • Participation in the software development lifecycle to develop enhancement/bug definitions and navigate functional requirements to production deployments is expected.
  • The engineer will proactively seek efficiencies within operations and manage additional projects assigned by management.
  • Documentation for operational procedures must be created and maintained.
  • The role includes driving standardization efforts across multiple disciplines and participating in an on-call rotation for 24x7 support of production systems.
  • Remediation of infrastructure and container security vulnerabilities is also part of the job.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 4+ years of related SRE or DevOps experience.
  • Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools and processes is required.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Information Technology Engineering, or equivalent work experience is necessary.
  • Strong experience with Agile software development methodology and collaboration with internal teams is essential.
  • A solid background in bash scripting and experience with higher-level scripting languages like Python or Node.js is required.
  • Experience in leading projects to completion with a team is necessary.
  • Candidates should have experience deploying distributed, microservice-oriented applications at scale.
  • Familiarity with Docker or similar container solutions and orchestration tooling such as Kubernetes is required.
  • Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies is necessary.
  • Preferred candidates will have 2+ years of experience deploying Amazon Web Services (AWS) public cloud infrastructures and administering managed AWS services.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and advocating for technologies is expected.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with a high degree of personal integrity and confidentiality.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated, logical, and detail-oriented.
