Description:
Spalding, a Saalex Company, is seeking a Senior Software Developer in Lexington Park, MD.
This position is full-time and offers a salary range of $150K-$160K, depending on experience.
The role is remote, allowing for flexible work arrangements.
Essential functions include leading the research, design, and development of cloud-based IT systems/applications.
The developer will apply software development principles and techniques to recommend system/software improvements and enhance existing capabilities.
Responsibilities include product exploration, technology planning, and formulating solutions for product specifications and performance requirements.
The developer will contribute to software-related project functions for the NAVAIR customer, supporting Agile and DevSecOps implementation activities.
The role involves maintaining software code and databases, adhering to software coding standards, and utilizing development tools for task management and version control.
Daily stand-up meetings will be supported, along with other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience deploying applications using Cloud Native methodologies and tools such as Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless Functions, and Microservice Architectures.
Strong experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and configuration management tools such as Microsoft Azure DevSecOps, Gitlab, and Jira is required.
Experience supporting REST API, Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, Python (Flask), Django, React, Vscode, JHipster, jQuery, and SQL languages and technologies is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with automated unit, integration, and systems testing of components utilizing behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber and Cypress.
A CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
Experience with deployment of applications within the NAVAIR hosting environments is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Educational qualifications include an MS, MA, or MBA technical degree with 10 years of related experience, a BS degree with 12 years of related experience, an AS or AA degree with 14 years of related experience, or a HS diploma with 16 years of related experience.
Desired qualifications include experience in supporting Red Hat OpenShift and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) applications, as well as experience with Database Management Systems (DBMS) and tools such as Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, Splunk, Teradata, and SQLite.
