Description:
Wealthsimple is seeking a Senior Software Developer for their Data Governance team, which is responsible for creating and managing tools that safeguard, monitor, and govern data across the business.
The role involves working end-to-end across the entire stack to drive execution and best practices on impactful tools and initiatives aimed at protecting client data.
Responsibilities include developing company-wide tooling such as an internal Data Access Request Portal, stewarding the release of new tooling, and mentoring platform adopters.
The developer will improve processes around data retention, deletion requests, and sensitive data identification while partnering with Data, Security, and Infrastructure teams.
Collaboration across all business areas is essential, as the developer will create software impacting the front-end, back-end, and infrastructure from concept to release.
Requirements:
Candidates should have experience across front-end, back-end, and infrastructure, with the ability to communicate technically across teams; expertise in all areas is not required.
Proficiency in relevant technologies such as Python/Flask, React, SQL, Postgres, Snowflake, Redshift, Satori Cyber, K8s, DataHub, DataDog, and Splunk is necessary.
Experience in end-to-end delivery of highly scalable and performant software is required.
Knowledge of industry best practices and tooling in data security and governance is essential, along with a passion for coaching and mentoring in these areas.
A collaborative and open communication style is important, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and solution-focused messages to a cross-discipline team.
