Join Acuity Insights as a Senior Software Developer in a fully remote role, working within EST and PST time zones from anywhere in Canada.
Be part of a team modernizing the assessment platform, Casper, by building new systems, maintaining existing systems, leading design, and mentoring developers.
Work primarily with JavaScript and TypeScript, with some new code in Go, and older apps being Meteor-based monoliths running on Heroku with MongoDB.
Engage in projects involving React UIs that call APIs on AWS API Gateway and Lambda, utilizing DynamoDB.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience with backend JavaScript or the ability to learn it quickly.
Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud platforms is important, with AWS experience being ideal.
Comfort in working on full-stack web applications is required, including changing UIs, APIs, database schemas, or deployment pipelines as needed.
Experience in leading large system migrations is preferred, with a mix of successful and challenging migration experiences.
A deep curiosity and ability to quickly master new technologies is expected.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for discussing issues and providing clear project plans and updates.
Familiarity with quality improvement techniques such as pair programming, code reviews, and automated testing is necessary.
Ability to provide actionable feedback to developers and set high standards for code quality is required.
