Description:
The Senior Software Developer position at Vention is a hybrid role based in the Montreal office for 3 days a week.
The role involves designing and implementing web-based applications to automate industrial machines, from simulation in the Cloud to operation on the shop floor.
Responsibilities include working on backend and databases, user interfaces, CI/CD pipeline, and all related tasks.
The Senior Software Developer will participate in defining requirements, designing models, implementing and testing, deploying, and maintaining software.
Hands-on full-stack web development using JavaScript is a key aspect, including backend engine implementation and graphical user interface development.
Thorough documentation for all developed models and code is required.
Leading technical projects and initiatives across teams and departments is part of the role.
Collaboration with team leads, product managers, and providing mentorship to junior team members is essential.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in software development, preferably with JavaScript.
Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and web development frameworks like React.
Experience in designing responsive systems for embedded and cloud/web environments.
Understanding of distributed system design and related technical challenges.
Strong ownership and responsibility throughout the software development lifecycle.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and tackle new challenges effectively.
