Description:

The Senior Software Developer position is a remote role based in Canada, working for Smile Digital Health, which focuses on improving global health through innovative health data solutions.
The developer will work closely with various business areas to gather product requirements and design, implement, and test system components.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing applications using web technologies, creating and maintaining product and support documentation, and analyzing requirements to propose technical solutions.
The role involves ensuring solutions are interoperable, performant, and maintainable, adhering to coding standards, and participating in code reviews.
The developer will research new technologies, advise on technical design, and break down work for team members while being a go-to person for project issues.
Accountability for tracking and reporting billable hours in NetSuite is critical, along with compliance with privacy, security, and confidentiality policies.

Requirements:

A minimum of 8 years of software development experience is required.
Proficiency in Java, Spring, Rest API, SQL, and Git is essential.
Experience in developing middleware products, unit testing practices, and transaction processing is necessary.
The candidate must be able to create and maintain clear documentation and focus on code health and quality in repositories.
Experience in end-to-end feature development is required.
Knowledge or experience in healthcare, specifically HL7/FHIR, is considered an asset.

The position offers a remote work environment and a flexible time away from work policy, including PTO, personal, and sick days.
A competitive salary range of $90,000 - $135,000 is provided, along with health and medical benefits.
