Description:

The Senior Software Developer will join the Core team, responsible for the engine driving the company’s key goals, such as adding relevant insurance products and delivering documents to customers.
The role involves building software that powers Zensurance's data collection, rating, and pricing engines using Node.js and TypeScript.
Responsibilities include taking ownership of custom feature development, acting as a Subject Matter Expert, facilitating cross-team collaboration, and mentoring junior developers.
The position is remote-first within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Requirements:
A university degree or college diploma in a recognized technical, vocational, or academic program, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience building rich, complex web applications is necessary.
Candidates must have extensive full-stack experience with Node.js, AWS, React.js, and the TypeScript ecosystem.
Experience in architecting and augmenting large software systems is essential.
Familiarity with microservices, microfrontends, MongoDB, NestJS, TypeORM, and PostgreSQL is preferred.
Understanding of web security best practices and data protection is required.
Knowledge of containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes is necessary.
A passion for clean, reusable, and well-structured code is expected.
Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and collaborate with others are essential.
A commitment to continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharing is required.
