Description:
Common App is a national not-for-profit organization focused on access, equity, and integrity in the college admission process.
The Senior Software Developer will report to the Director of Software Development and be part of a team designing and developing web-based and mobile software products.
Responsibilities include planning, developing, modifying, and testing software components using .NET technologies within an Amazon Web Service and Agile development environment.
The role involves creating new products and enhancing existing software systems, managing the production system for quality, and mentoring other Software Developers.
Requirements:
Candidates must reside in the United States.
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
5-8 years of experience in software development is necessary.
Proficiency in Angular.js 2+, Typescript, Microsoft .Net Core 2.0+, C#, Visual Studio IDE, ORM, HTML5, CSS3, and Micro Service Oriented Architecture using Web API is required.
Candidates must be proficient in managing state in Angular 2+ Applications and in SQL queries and stored procedures.
Knowledge of the entire development process, including code repository management (GitHub), code review, coding standards, and code deployment is essential.
Candidates are expected to evaluate and make recommendations based on complex Proof of Concepts.
Understanding of OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilities and secure coding practices is required.
Strong communication (verbal and written) and team collaboration skills are necessary.
A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential, along with active participation in cross-organizational working groups.
The ideal candidate will have experience with AWS Cloud Services, managing state in Angular 2+ Applications using NGRX, mobile hybrid frameworks like Ionic, CI/CD automation cloud experience, and .NET or AWS certification.
A passion for higher education is a plus.
