Description:
The Quality Engineering (QE) Team is responsible for ensuring adequate test coverage for all Lucidworks products and maintaining high quality standards for a great client experience.
The Lead Quality Engineer will oversee the effectiveness of manual and automated tests, contribute to the automation framework, and drive implementation of automation coverage for distributed cloud native Search and AI Products.
The role involves leading the design, development, and execution of test plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving overall quality and success of software projects.
Responsibilities include defining, writing, and reviewing comprehensive test plans, identifying and tracking defects, maintaining testing documentation, and reporting on testing progress.
The Lead Quality Engineer will collaborate on the strategic development of test automation strategies and implement QE-specific metrics for data insights to optimize testing strategies.
The position requires evaluating the current Test Automation Framework and working closely with development, product management, and operations teams to define testing requirements.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with expertise in writing automated tests for Java Applications and API calls is required.
At least 3 years of professional experience in automated testing, with strong proficiency in tools such as Robot, Jenkins, and Docker.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for conveying technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Proficient development experience in coding with Python or Golang within a Kubernetes environment is necessary, along with a strong understanding of distributed systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and technical understanding of distributed systems are required, with knowledge of Search Tech (like Fusion) being advantageous.
Experience in UI automation, performance testing, and Java programming is needed, along with familiarity with operational monitoring tools such as Grafana and Kibana.
Experience working with large-scale cloud platforms or applications, preferably with public clouds (GCP, AWS, Azure) or Openshift is required.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States full-time for any employer.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $121,000 - $167,000 a year, with levels based on interview performance and experience.
The total compensation package may include discretionary variable bonuses, top-notch medical, dental, and vision coverage, and equity.
