Remote Senior Software Engineer

Description:

• Timmons Group is currently seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain interactive web and web-based mobile applications for a growing base of clients.
• The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and modernize full-stack solutions, interact positively with clients, and contribute to delivery methodology and processes.
• The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of enterprise software development experience and be excited about modernizing a legacy codebase.
• A solid understanding of application architecture and best practices for code development and deployment is required.
• Projects will often utilize geospatial technologies including ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS APIs and SDKs, ArcGIS Online, and open-source geospatial technologies such as PostGIS, GeoServer, MapProxy, and OpenLayers.js.
• Essential duties include working productively in a team environment, designing and implementing quality geospatial solutions, analyzing functional requirements, leading software architecture design, providing consulting to clients, leading code reviews, and collaborating on requirement definitions.
• The candidate will also design and utilize automation for CI/CD pipelines, work within an agile delivery methodology, and provide exemplary customer service to all clients.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
• The candidate must have 8+ years of professional experience in application design, development, and operations.
• A minimum of 3 years of IT consulting experience is necessary.
• A proven track record of designing and delivering software in a fast-paced agile environment is essential.
• Experience with software design patterns and architecture principles is required.
• A pragmatic approach to software development and delivery is expected.
• The candidate should have a strong understanding of application architecture and development best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary.
• Experience with full stack development including C#, Java, Python, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as utilizing a modern JS framework such as Angular, React, or Vue is required.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Formation Templates, Code Build, and Code Pipeline or similar tools is necessary.
• An interest in working with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure is preferred.
