Remote Senior Software Engineer

Description:

• SevenRooms is hiring a remote Senior Software Engineer focused on improving the reliability, performance, and scale of their product.
• The role involves engineering highly performant, mission-critical systems designed for agile development and rapid scaling.
• The engineer will collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and designers to create real solutions that empower SevenRooms for growth.
• The position is part of a team of over 70 engineering professionals and reports directly to the VP of Engineering.

• Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software with a focus on customer-facing features.
• The engineer will be the technical owner of features from design to implementation and ongoing support.
• The role requires managing individual project priorities, deadlines, code quality, and deliverables, along with occasional on-call duties.

Requirements:

• A BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent professional experience is required.
• Candidates must have experience developing web applications.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design is necessary.
• A minimum of 4 years of software engineering experience is required.
• Willingness and desire to work in Python, Rust, and Kotlin is essential; prior experience in these languages is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with scaling problems, data modeling at scale, and performance issues is preferred.
