Remote Senior Software Engineer

Description:

• Paystone is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the adoption of cutting-edge tools and practices while nurturing talent within the engineering culture.
• The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs using TypeScript, with a strong emphasis on GraphQL.
• Responsibilities include building scalable and efficient APIs, developing cloud-native microservices leveraging GCP services, and architecting backend systems for scalability, performance, and reliability.
• The engineer will manage and automate cloud infrastructure with Terraform, maintain high code quality through testing and code reviews, and troubleshoot backend issues.
• The position also requires contributing to architectural discussions, preparing system documentation, and being involved in project requirements-gathering.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5+ years in backend development with significant expertise in TypeScript is required.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly in Cloud Spanner, Datastore, and Pub/Sub, is essential.
• Candidates must have a deep understanding of microservices architecture and advanced knowledge in GraphQL, RESTful API design, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in using Testing Frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, and Artillery for various levels of testing is necessary.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to debug complex backend issues are required.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience in agile development environments, are essential.
• A meticulous approach to software development, ensuring quality and functionality, is expected.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring junior developers and fostering a culture of technical excellence is required.
