Remote Senior Software Engineer

Description:

• The Muse Group tech team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on products aimed at connecting job seekers with suitable job opportunities.
• The role involves working on both front end and back end code, including writing services, user interfaces, and more for the brands Fairygodboss.com and Themuse.com.
• Applicants should have experience in javascript and python, and familiarity with cloud architecture, microservices, async, and data streaming concepts using technologies like Eventbridge, Kafka, Databricks, Airflow, etc.
• Technologies used include React, Next.js, Typescript for front end applications, and FastAPI, Django, Python, Node, AWS, and PostgreSQL for services and other applications. Docker, CircleCI, and Github are used for workflow.
• The position is remote and requires working during business hours of 9-6pm (GMT-5).
• Job functions include working closely with technical and product team members, building new features, releasing modern web applications, championing site performance, and driving best practices and product iterations.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Designing and building scalable solutions with javascript and python, particularly using frameworks like React, FastAPI, and Django.
• Confidence in shipping to production frequently, with experience in continuous integration, automated deployments, monitoring, and alerting.
• Understanding and practicing clean code principles such as SOLID, DRY, and YAGNI.
• Experience in weeding out technical debt and a passion for data-driven development.
