Description:
Teaching Lab, a remote education non-profit, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team.
The role will focus on Podsie, an educational technology web application for K-12 teachers and students, aiming to improve student learning outcomes through evidence-based strategies.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing personalized learning algorithms, building core features, and developing innovations to enhance the learning experience.
The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to a National Science Foundation-funded research project on improving STEM K-12 learning through spaced retrieval practice.
The position involves product development, applied research, and supporting the NSF grant project to maximize student learning outcomes.
The role may also involve working on other innovative projects in the future.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum five years of professional software development experience.
Proficiency in Rails, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Postgres.
Strong problem-solving skills, communication, collaboration, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Passion for improving educational outcomes and using technology to impact student learning.
Experience in system design, scalability, security, and optimizing software performance.
Desire to create inclusive digital experiences and a commitment to best practices in software development.
